is partnered with a growing utility services provider in Sugar Land that is seeking a Staff Accountant to support their accounting operations. This role is responsible for applying accounting principles and company policies to ensure accurate financial records and strong internal controls. You'll play a key part in financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
Responsibilities
Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
Support monthly and year-end closing activities
Monitor and review costs to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
Assist with financial analysis and reporting
Reconcile daily cash transactions and banking files
Track project-related expenses and ensure proper classification
Help with regulatory filings and other financial documentation
Collaborate with team members and report concerns to leadership as needed
Take on other accounting tasks as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
3–5 years of accounting experience
Working knowledge of GAAP
Familiarity with financial statements and general ledger systems
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other common office software
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
