Position Overview
The
Claims Specialist
plays a vital role in navigating the insurance claims process on behalf of our clients. This position acts as the primary liaison between homeowners, insurance carriers, and internal teams to ensure that claims are filed, adjusted, negotiated, and finalized in a timely, accurate, and fair manner. You will work closely with Project Managers and Sales Team members to support a seamless experience for each homeowner, while using ClaimWizard to manage all documentation and tasks throughout the claim lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Claim Management & Documentation
Oversee the full insurance claim lifecycle—from initial estimate to final Certificate of Completion (COC). Gather and review documentation such as insurance policies, photos, workups, estimates, and damage reports. Maintain detailed records of all claims activities in ClaimWizard, ensuring timely and accurate updates. Insurance Carrier Communication & Negotiation
Engage with insurance carriers to negotiate fair settlements on behalf of homeowners. Review and respond to carrier estimates, identifying missed items or areas needing supplementation. Submit and follow up on supplemental claims to ensure complete coverage for scope of work. Client Communication & Support
Serve as a knowledgeable and empathetic point of contact for homeowners throughout the claims process. Educate clients on what to expect, communicate updates proactively, and answer any questions that arise. Support Project Managers by advising on claim direction and assisting with documentation needed for production readiness. Scheduling & Internal Collaboration
Scheduling for assigned projects Coordinate with Project Managers, Sales team, and Production to align claim details with scope and scheduling. Ensure all information is organized and accessible for a smooth handoff into the build stage. Performance Expectations

Minimum of 80 claims touched/documented per week Weekly Quality Control Checks (QCs):
on claim files and documentation General Overview of Claim/Collection Process
1st estimate is received, homeowner gets call from Claim Specialist to go over what was approved, confirm ACV check goes out Text customer & AE approval amount and ACV amount Set task to follow up on ACV check in 10 days Homeowner on check - advise owner to cash check and send us personal check If its owner and PA, AE goes to get check and bring it back It is owner, PA and mortgage company, homeowner has to contact mortgage co for endorsement Every time there is a supplemental dollar increase, repeat steps with total team knowing Once the claim is in planning, the specialist should text/contact the AE & Field Sales manager to trigger the contract building Claim handler in charge of COC After COC is sent out, claim handler notifies AE Call or text homeowner to advise depreciation check will be released (set task for 10 day follow up) After all funds have been received, do final calculations to determine if any remaining funds should go back to homeowner Final check - Julie - close the claim Qualifications
Experience in insurance claims, roofing, restoration, or construction strongly preferred. Strong understanding of insurance policy terms, estimating practices, and claims negotiation. Proficiency with ClaimWizard or similar claims management platforms. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple claims at varying stages. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
