Responsibilities
This position is a professional accounting position in the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation’s (DVR) Financial Payments Section, administratively assigned to the Bureau of the Comptroller. It performs a variety of accounting and related office duties in compliance with applicable statutes and administrative codes.
Receives and processes incoming mail for the section and answers a multi-line telephone.
Researches vendor payment inquiries using the RIMS, FLAIR and Department of Financial Services website.
Corresponds verbally and/or in writing with each division area Financial Liaison on payment issues.
Requests duplicate warrants and photocopies of warrants from the State Comptroller’s office.
Verifies incoming refunds for mathematical correctness and lists refund checks on transmittals.
Prepares a variety of fiscal statements and reports.
Prepares MyFloridaMarketPlace order requests for the Financial Payment Section.
Requests voucher schedules daily; matches this report with invoices to ensure proper payment.
Assists with processing client service authorization invoices for payment to vendors.
Assists federal and state auditors as necessary.
Receives, copies, and files all paid vouchers for client authorizations and FLAIR reports.
Attendance at work is an essential job function.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures.
Knowledge of basic arithmetic and data collection methods.
Knowledge of office procedures and practices.
Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of accounting records and financial statements.
Ability to review fiscal data for accuracy and completeness and to post, balance and reconcile fiscal records.
Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data; understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to an accounting program.
Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments; communicate effectively; establish and maintain effective working relationships; work independently; and utilize problem solving techniques.
