Overview
BBSI is seeking an Employee Benefits Consultant to provide guidance and support to our business-owner clients and our internal team of experts. The role represents the BBSI Benefits program and requires strong business acumen, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a proactive approach to delivering results for clients and internal teams. The Employee Benefits Consultant works with their branch, clients, and their broker (when applicable) to create a tailored benefits package that meets the needs of clients and their employees. The ideal candidate will balance account management and service with the responsibility to bring on new BBSI Benefits Clients and their employees (worksite employees). The objective is to partner with branches, internal underwriting, and the corporate operations team to drive growth and deliver strategic benefits guidance throughout the client lifecycle. Responsibilities
Generate growth of the master benefits program (Health, Dental, Vision, Ancillary, etc.). Design and recommend client companies’ benefits offerings based on client objectives, providing strategic guidance and decision-making support. Educate client employees on the value of their benefits and simplify industry concepts during open enrollment meetings to maximize employee engagement and plan participation. Support field-driven new business development by identifying opportunities and client fit. Serve as a subject matter expert in employee benefits, providing strategic guidance, training, and support to colleagues, external clients and their employees, and internal clients. Manage client relationships to enhance the client and worksite employee experience with BBSI and the Benefits Program throughout the lifecycle. Benefits onboarding and implementation of benefit plans, ensuring compliance. Collaborate to proactively reach out to clients and provide prompt resolution of escalated matters. 8+ years hands-on employee benefits experience at a benefits brokerage or general agency; Account Management and/or Benefits Administration experience a plus. Prior PEO experience a plus. Thorough understanding of employee benefits principles and practices, including laws and regulations at state and federal levels, product and market-specific familiarity, industry trends, and underwriting concepts. Ability to develop and maintain deep knowledge of master plan contracts, carrier partnerships, competitors, plan limitations and exclusions, internal processes, underwriting requirements, and compliance considerations. Ability to tailor complex concepts to diverse audiences in verbal and written formats. Excellent facilitation skills including conducting effective meetings and delivering presentations and trainings to individuals and groups at all levels. Ability to develop and maintain relationships with branch leaders, business unit team members, referral sources, and operations support employees. Proven ability to manage a portfolio of accounts while maintaining strong client relationships and acting as a trusted advisor to business owners. Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and perform administrative tasks as needed. Extensive Microsoft Office experience, especially Excel and PowerPoint; experience with CRM software. Availability to travel up to 25% during peak periods, including possible overnight stays. The salary range for this position is $105,000-$120,000 annually. Factors that may affect starting pay include geography, skills, education, experience, certifications, and other qualifications. This position is eligible for incentive pay in accordance with the Company’s plan. Benefits
