The role you will contribute: The Senior Grants Specialist interacts with clinical and department leaders to provide relevant, accurate, and timely fiscal support related to grants and other sponsored research agreements for AdventHealth. The Senior Grants Specialist works with and supports the Grants Manager, department leaders, and staff in developing, implementing, and providing ongoing financial oversight to grants management operations and promoting the appropriate use and accurate reporting of grants and other sponsored research agreements. Responsibilities: Conducts prospect research and grant writing while collaborating with external consultants and internal key stakeholders to assist team members across AdventHealth in the successful pursuit of funding. Assists in developing and administering policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all regulations applicable to the relevant agreements, including state and federal regulations. Ensures transactions are recorded and agree to the grant agreement, while also ensuring financial activities adhere to deliverable deadlines. Reviews and validates financial information, assumptions and methodology based on a thorough understanding of financial concepts, healthcare principles, and AdventHealth systems. Assists in the annual preparation and audit of the Schedule(s) of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA). Assists and participates in preparations for external monitoring visits, reviews, and audits, including cross-site evaluations. Reviews budgets and reimbursement requests for appropriateness. Manages subrecipient and contractor agreements and ensures terms and conditions of agreements are met, properly documented, and communicated. Initiates, designs, develops, and trains peers on grants fiscal management and grant requirements. Conducts routine internal compliance reviews of grant programs. Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required 3+ years of related experience required Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Working knowledge of nonprofit business operations and federal/state grant funding mechanisms Working knowledge of personal computer applications and spreadsheet analysis Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects at one time Ability to communicate well orally and in writing with proven analytical and organizational abilities Computer proficiency, particularly Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
