Opportunity Looking for a Staff Tax Accountant – Sales Tax to add to their growing team in Houston, Texas. This Staff Tax Accountant role is primarily responsible for supporting the sales & use tax function, assisting with compliance with state and local tax regulations, conducting research, and assisting in the response to audits. The role is designed for individuals who enjoy working independently within a larger accounting team. However, collaboration within the team is welcomed and encouraged. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of sales & use tax, and this role will also have the opportunity to be mentored by more senior-level accountants.
Requirements
BBA in Accounting, Tax concentration
Minimum 2 years professional tax experience, oil & gas taxation experience preferred but not required
High degree of proficiency with MS Office products (specifically Excel, Word, Outlook)
Prior experience with P2/Oracle accounting software, tax compliance software, is desirable but not required
Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical skills
Outstanding organizational, research, written and verbal communication skills
CPA License preferred, but not required
