Customers run their businesses on the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) cloud, leveraging an ever-expanding set of industry-leading cloud-based services such as security, networking, compute, storage, and database. OCI's Block Volumes service operates at massive scale, delivering exabytes of data across 60+ regions. You will be part of the OCI storage performance team, focusing on improving storage performance for object, file and block implementations, and collaborating with performance analysts and SMEs to enhance system performance. Responsibilities

Evaluate the performance of cloud storage solutions, identify inefficiencies, and design cost-effective solutions. Collaborate with SMEs within OCI storage to architect performance improvements that align with the platform’s strategic direction. Implement proposed changes at proof-of-concept scale to validate performance gains and assess system risk. Lead a team of engineers through final implementation and rollout to OCI storage regions. Qualifications

5 to 10 years distributed service engineering experience in a software development environment Development experience in a modern programming language, such as Java, C++, C# Knowledge of Linux Systems Internals and Storage Protocols like iSCSI, NVMe-oF, NFS, SMB Experience working closely with architects, principals, product, and program managers to deliver product features on time and with high quality Good knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals Demonstrable technical leadership and mentorship skills Hands-on experience in software performance profiling, analysis, and optimization Experience with industry-leading benchmarking tools such as FIO, CrystalDiskMark, IOR, MLPerf, VDBench, HammerDB, SysBench Preferred Qualifications

BS degree in Computer Science or related field (MS preferred) Hands-on experience developing services on a public cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) Experience driving security reviews, documentation, UX reviews, and working with Product Managers from inception through launch Building continuous integration/deployment pipelines with robust testing and deployment schedules Proven experience in distributed system or cloud infrastructure performance Nice to Have

Experience with cloud storage services such as OCI, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Strong SQL skills and database performance tuning Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Kubernetes Experience with application profiling and workload simulation Benefits & Additional Information
