Overview
DecisionPoint seeks a
Mid-Level Developer (Survivor Portal)
to support the development, integration, and sustainment of the Department of Defense's secure Survivor Portal. This application provides survivors and family members with access to case status, event registration, resource materials, and secure communication capabilities. The developer will work within an Agile team to deliver high-quality, compliant software solutions across
AWS GovCloud IL2-IL5 environments , ensuring privacy, accuracy, and performance within a mission-critical ecosystem. This position is fully remote. Note:

Develop and enhance front-end and back-end modules for the Survivor Portal supporting
account creation, consent forms, and electronic signature features . Implement responsive, accessible user interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue). Support API integrations that enable secure data sharing with case management and benefits systems. Implement
authentication and access controls
through DoD-compliant identity management services (OAuth 2.0, SAML). Contribute to the design and implementation of
microservices and serverless architectures
within AWS GovCloud. Participate in
Agile sprint cycles , collaborating with designers, testers, and system engineers to meet release objectives. Write, test, and
maintain
clean, modular code that adheres to performance and security best practices. Support deployment activities including
automated builds, testing, and configuration validation
through CI/CD pipelines. Conduct
defect analysis and troubleshooting , ensuring quality and continuity across environments. Ensure compliance with
DoD RMF, STIG, and accessibility requirements
across portal components. Maintain documentation for system components, data interfaces, and version control. Support sustainment by
monitoring
performance and implementing iterative improvements based on user feedback. Qualifications
Clearance Requirement: Must hold an active
Secret clearance . Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical discipline. Experience: Minimum
5 years of experience
in web application or software development. Hands-on experience with
secure, modular systems
in federal or defense environments. Familiarity with
Agile software development and DevSecOps
practices. Technical Knowledge: Proficiency with programming languages such as
Java, Python, or C# . Experience with
JavaScript frameworks
(React, Angular, or Vue). Familiarity with
RESTful APIs , JSON, and web services. Experience working in
AWS GovCloud
or equivalent secure environments. Understanding of
DoD cybersecurity controls
and data protection standards. Exposure to
CI/CD tools
such as Jenkins, GitLab, or AWS CodePipeline. Certifications (Preferred): AWS Certified Developer - Associate or AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner. CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent DoD 8570 certification. Certified Scrum Developer (CSD) or Agile certification. Skills: Strong teamwork and communication skills in Agile settings. Solid problem-solving ability and attention to detail. Ability to balance performance, compliance, and usability requirements. Dedication to continuous learning and mission-focused development.
