Overview
Network Engineer (Palo Alto) – On-site, Rosslyn, VA. DoD program support focusing on designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, high-performance network infrastructures that comply with DoD cybersecurity standards. DoD and Palo Alto expertise required; candidate will join a defense-focused environment. Responsibilities
Configure, deploy, and manage Palo Alto firewalls, Panorama, and related security infrastructure Implement and maintain secure network architectures in accordance with DoD standards Conduct network performance monitoring, capacity planning, and optimization Develop and maintain detailed network diagrams, documentation, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) Support vulnerability assessments and remediation activities Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in information systems, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Five (5) years of experience in network engineering, with at least 3 years focused on Palo Alto firewalls Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility Experience configuring, managing, and optimizing Palo Alto Firewalls directly and via Panorama Understanding of Palo Alto features such as App-ID, User-ID, URL filtering, GlobalProtect VPN, and threat prevention Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs) Familiarity with DoD security and compliance frameworks Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment Work Environment and Physical Demand
