Overview
As a
Microsoft Data Center Inventory & Asset Technician (DIAT) , you will perform cycle audits, execute incoming/outgoing deliveries, coordinate security escorts for third-party vendors, and document inbound and outbound deliveries as instructed by management. You will initiate warranty claims and process returns on failed equipment. This opportunity will allow you to build working knowledge of inventory management principles, warranty process management, data bearing device destruction, and advance your career in the process. Customer Service
– Maintain a strong focus on the impact of IAM tasks and tickets, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company and industry standards and policies. Understand guidelines in Microsoft contractual agreements with suppliers and communicate potential impacts to stakeholders, planning accordingly. Data Bearing Device (DBD) Destruction
– Perform destruction of data bearing devices following SLAs and Microsoft policies; ensure DBD serial numbers match the database. Inbound and Outbound Logistics
– Document inbound/outbound packages, execute deliveries as directed, ensure accurate documentation, and apply appropriate customs documentation and standards for outbound packages. Inventory Management
– Develop working knowledge of stock control and inventory practices; perform cycle audits, reconcile discrepancies, maintain detailed physical inventory tracking and staging, and manage material movement per standard process. Operational Excellence
– Follow procedures to run processes with consistency, accuracy, and timely delivery. Procurement
– Notify management of stock shortages and escalate issues as needed. Safety Practices
– Comply with security and data management policies; coordinate with security escorts; engage in Task Hazard Analysis (THA) for each task and obtain sign-off for related risks. Tactical Shift Management
– Execute assigned tasks and escalate issues during high-volume periods; seek guidance from management when needed. Warranty Process Management
– Initiate warranty claims when automation is unavailable, process orders, and manage returns for RMA devices in accordance with SLAs. Other
– Travel up to 25% as required; embody the company culture and values. Qualifications
Required Qualifications High School Diploma AND 6 months of experience or an internship in inventory management, retail, warehouse management, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including non-standard business hours that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and/or holidays. Travel up to 25% may be required. Other Requirements Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check (pass at hire/transfer and every two years). Citizenship verification as required by government customers; passport-based verification may be required. Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) screening eligibility; hairline background checks may be required across multiple states.
