Crisis Intervention Specialist-Residential (Part-Time 3rd Shift) The Ion Center for Violence Prevention is a non-profit agency serving 13 Kentucky counties with a mission to provide the best care for people impacted by power-based personal violence and to reduce harm. Services are free and confidential. This part-time Residential Crisis Intervention Specialist role supports resident-victims at the Buffalo Trace shelter by answering hotline calls, maintaining a welcoming environment, connecting with and supporting victim-survivors, and addressing other needs as they arise. This position has hours that range from 9:00 pm to 7:00 am. Responsibilities

Intake and Assessment: maintain client confidentiality; field crisis hotline calls, texts, and chat; assess and identify client needs; provide and connect clients with community resources; assist clients with completing agency paperwork; aid clients in developing safety plans. Counseling and Case Management: provide trauma-informed individual/family and/or group counseling; educate survivors on topics relevant to partner violence, sexual violence, and stalking; identify client goals related to benefits, childcare, education, budget, and housing needs; transport clients to meet goals. Advocacy: provide support for clients navigating the legal system (including accompanying to court, educating on the legal system, assisting with filing protection orders); support Ion Center in providing essential services to victims (hospital advocacy on call, hotline, and emergency shelter); collaborate with community partners, law enforcement, medical staff, and social service agencies; assist with crime victim compensation. Communication, Teamwork, and Administration: maintain client files and documentation; attend related meetings and trainings; report stats for funders; accept and disseminate donations; contribute to a clean, trauma-informed work environment; collaborate across agency sites. Other duties: duties may change at any time with or without notice. Qualifications

Knowledge and skills typically gained through a degree from an accredited college/university; or a high school diploma or equivalent with one to two years related experience. Knowledge of Trauma-Informed Care. Ability to work under highly stressful, crisis-oriented situations. Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a high level of confidentiality. Outstanding empathetic and listening skills. Professional oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate on a team. Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills. Complete trainings for funding requirements and knowledge building. Must be a minimum age of 18. Mental/Physical Activities

Speaking, seeing, hearing, standing, writing, walking, including climbing steps; carry, pull, lift, stoop, kneel. Operate related office equipment (keyboard, monitor, camera, copier, fax, phones, etc.). Position may involve exposure to infectious diseases and stressful situations.
