All services to victim-survivors are free and confidential. The Ion Center is looking for compassionate individuals to support and serve victim-survivors residing in our Buffalo Trace shelter, ensuring we provide the best care and most welcoming environment. Residential Crisis Intervention Specialists participate in case management, lead group sessions, maintain facility cleanliness, answer hotline calls, perform data entry, and address other needs as they arise. 9pm-7am
or
10pm-8am , depending on agency needs. Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Site and Program Management, provides a full range of crisis intervention and case management services to primary and secondary survivors of crime, with a special focus on victims of partner violence, sexual violence, and stalking, helping victims work toward safety and self-sufficiency. Responsibilities
Intake and Assessment Maintain client confidentiality Field crisis hotline calls, texts, and chat Assess and identify client needs Provide and connect clients with community resources Assist clients with completing agency paperwork Aide clients in developing safety plans Counseling and Case Management Provide trauma-informed individual, family, and/or group counseling Educate survivors on topics relevant to partner violence, sexual violence, and stalking Identify client goals related to benefits, childcare, education, budget, and housing Transport clients to meet goals Advocacy Support clients navigating the legal system, including accompanying clients to court, educating on the legal system, and assisting with filing protection orders Support Ion Center in providing essential services to victims (hospital advocacy on call, hotline, and emergency shelter) Collaborate with community partners, law enforcement, medical staff, and social service agencies Assist clients with crime victim compensation Communication, Teamwork, and Administration Maintain client files and documentation Attend related meetings and trainings Report statistics for funders Accept and disseminate donations Contribute to a clean, healthy, and trauma-informed work environment Collaborate as a team across agency sites Other Duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover all duties; duties may change at any time with or without notice Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, etc.)
Knowledge and skills typically gained through a degree from an accredited college/university; or high school diploma or equivalent with 1–2 years related experience Knowledge of Trauma-Informed Care Ability to work under highly stressful, crisis-oriented situations Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality Outstanding empathetic and listening skills Professional oral and written communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills Complete trainings for funding requirements and knowledge building Must be a minimum age of 18 Mental/Physical Activities
Speaking, seeing, hearing, standing, writing, walking; climbing stairs; carry, pull, lift, stoop, kneel Use related office equipment (keyboard, monitor, camera, copier, fax, phones, etc.) This position may involve exposure to infectious diseases and stressful situations The Ion Center offers generous time-off, medical benefits (including FSA/HSA), dental and vision benefits, 403(b), employee assistance program, discounted pet insurance, paid parental leave, free lunch, and more. This is an hourly position with pay starting at $20.00/hour.
