Summary of Position: The Tax Accountant will support sales tax audits by providing documentation, conducting taxability research, and reviewing audit workpapers. Collaborate with the indirect tax compliance team and business partners to resolve issues.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Obtain and provide requested audit documentation, perform taxability research, and review audit workpapers.
Recommend corrective actions based on audit results and resolve sales tax issues.
Reconcile tax accounts and address variances.
Assist with use tax review and research tax laws to advise leadership.
Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or relevant experience.
0-2 years of indirect tax or audit experience preferred.
Strong organization, critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills.
Experience with tax systems like Vertex, Avalara, or similar, or ability to learn quickly.
Proficiency with automation tools like Power BI or Alteryx is a plus.
This is a full-time position located at 500 Volvo Parkway, Chesapeake, VA.
