JOB ANNOUNCEMENT What began as a one-man environmental engineering consulting firm in 1986 has purposefully grown into a leading design services firm. Watts is a multi-disciplinary architecture and engineering (A/E) firm providing architecture, civil, environmental, transportation, and construction monitoring services with offices in Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and New York City. As an interdisciplinary team of architects, engineers, and community builders, we work hand in hand with our clients to realize enduring designs — to create space for what matters. Responsibilities
Perform inspections for asbestos, lead-based paint and PCB sealants and prepare reports based on findings Mold Assessments Collaborate with architects and engineers to develop abatement/remediation construction documents Prepare site-specific variance petitions Review submittals and provide clarifications during construction Be comfortable interpreting NYC DEP Title 15, NYS ICR 56 and other applicable regulations Be dependable and able to work independently Have experience working with NYC agencies (Port Authority, NYCHHC, DCAS, MTA, etc.) Have experience working with the following NYS agencies (DASNY, SUCF, OGS) Possess initiative to problem solve Qualifications
College degree or some college education Must have current NYCDEP Asbestos Investigator, NYSDOL Asbestos Inspector & Designer Certification Minimum of 5 years experience performing surveys for asbestos, PCBs, hazardous materials, etc. Working knowledge of New York City, New York State and Federal asbestos regulations HAZWOPER 40-hour training - preferred Lead-Based Paint Risk Assessor or Inspector Certification - preferred Experience preparing proposals and managing projects - preferred Compensation
