Financial Accountant - Falmouth / Hybrid - £50-55,000 Neg DOE + Bonus + Exceptional benefits

We’ve agreed with our client to title this opportunity Financial Accountant but, to be honest, neither of us are convinced that really does it justice. The role will definitely call for a candidate with strong technical accounting and statutory reporting skills, but it’s actually much broader than that. To add to the confusion further, the existing Financial Controller is rather hoping that the successful candidate will have their eyes on his job in the future…

Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been exclusively engaged by a longstanding client and genuinely exciting business that seeks to recruit a Financial Accountant, or whatever you want to call it. The pace of the growth of this business has been nothing short of phenomenal and they’re rapidly earning a name for themselves one of Cornwall’s fastest growing tech-based employers. This expansion is set for many years to come and the finance team are growing with it. This is a brand new role that will work closely with the Financial Controller with a view to hopefully taking over that role in the not-to-distant future. The role is offered on a full time, permanent basis and this employer promotes a hybrid working arrangement with up to two days per week operated remotely.

This will be a pivotal role that works as part of a small (but quickly growing), and experienced team. Supported by a super-friendly FC the role will feature a broad range of responsibilities with a key focus on preparing financial reports, multiple account reconciliations (5 legal entities), AP/AR management and annual audit preparation. Other key responsibilities to include:

Key Responsibilities

Preparation of cost projections

Project accounting and budgeting

Assist with statutory accounting and reporting

Supporting the FC and CFO with month end procedures, ensuring accurate account reconciliations and insightful management reports

Play a key role in preparing financial forecasts and business plans

Production of monthly and ad-hoc financial statements

Assist with preparing financial reports for group companies

VAT reporting

Costing and pricing analysis

Cash flow forecasting

Streamline processes and implement new initiatives

Think you’ve got what it takes? We’re looking for a dynamic, energetic, and down-to-earth Financial Accountant. A professionally qualified individual (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), the successful candidate could potentially join the business directly from accountancy practice, or from another commercial business (ideally services, manufacturing or engineering based). You’ll require good exposure to the preparation of financial and management reports, up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and budgetary controls, and most certainly a natural leadership style. It’s a big job, but a rewarding one, and well suited to a driven individual who cares about their colleagues as much as their clients.

Benefits

Generous salary and a very lucrative bonus scheme (up to 20%)

Enhanced pension and life insurance

EV scheme and other fantastic benefits
