Our client, a large, well established manufacturing company, is looking for a
Financial Accountant
to join a high-performing finance team. In this full-time role, you’ll take ownership of key financial processes including reporting, budgeting support, statutory compliance, and audit preparation.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow)
Ensure compliance with IFRS, Companies Act, and other statutory requirements
Maintain the general ledger, fixed asset register, and perform key reconciliations
Support monthly management accounts, board packs, and variance analysis
Assist in preparing annual budgets and rolling forecasts
Perform detailed variance analysis and provide insightful commentary
Support product costing, stock valuations, and operations analysis (factory and retail)
Prepare cash flow forecasts and reconcile daily cash transactions
Assist with tax computations, VAT returns, and SARS submissions
Liaise with auditors and prepare audit support documentation
Support payroll reconciliations, journals, and compliance (SARS, UIF, etc.)
Ensure strong financial controls and contribute to internal process improvements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve finance-related queries
Identify opportunities to streamline systems, automate processes, and improve reporting
Support documentation of accounting policies and internal controls
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (with Honours and completed articles)
Professional qualification (CA(SA), CIMA, or equivalent) preferred
3–5 years’ experience in financial accounting or a similar role
Strong knowledge of IFRS and South African tax regulations
Experience in manufacturing or retail industries is an advantage
Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., JDE, SAP) and advanced Excel skills
Confident handling audits and statutory submissions
Comfortable working under pressure and managing multiple priorities
