Job Summary The Gaming Tax Accountant will work closely with the Tax and Compliance Supervisor and Director of Finance to perform a variety of tax-related functions, special projects, and the preparation of financial statements.

Job Responsibilities Assist with preparation of tax returns and payments for sales/use tax, alcohol tax, property tax, gross receipts tax parimutuel tax, gambling tax withholding, etc. Assist with the year-end filing of W-2g’s, 1042’s, and 1099’s. Assist with preparation of quarterly and annual census and surveys. Assist with preparation of quarterly and annual Bingo filings. Complete license renewals, such as alcohol, restaurant, business, music license, etc. Assist with projects of one or more entity assignments simultaneously, ensuring overall accuracy and deadlines are met. Works as an effective team member to complete project components and assigned tasks. Performs a detailed review of the work to ensure quality, thoroughness, and completion of assignment tasks within agreed time frames. Work with Tax and Compliance Supervisor on direct and indirect tax audit processes and communications for all jurisdictions as they arise. Prepare various analysis to build and support tax positions such as R&D credits, depreciation schedules, etc. Support planning and research activities regarding direct and indirect tax scenarios; communicate findings efficiently to non-tax professionals. Assist with outsourced tax preparation work such as income tax. Learn the business; integrate to ensure tax consequences of business activities are understood as part of build process not after the fact. Support the monthly close by reconciling all tax related accounts. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of tax changes. Help with treasury functions over time. Meets deadlines and maintains high attention to detail and accuracy.

Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting highly preferred. At least 2 years of experience as in Tax and/or compliance work. Must pass all required pre-screening and background checks. Internal candidates must meet the eligibility requirements as provided in the Transfer and Promotion policy. Ability to work a variety of shifts, this includes day, swing, late-night, weekend, and holiday shifts as scheduled. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.
