Commercial Credit Analyst

Analyzes complex personal and corporate loan portfolio financial statements for loan risk rating and monitoring purposes on a single loan or relationship basis. Performs timely and accurate annual reviews to monitor credit quality and early identification of deterioration of credit quality. Analyzes items such as income, quality of management, market share, potential risks and collateral appraisal. Prepares loan presentations, which include credit analysis and a summary of the loan request. We provide regular feedback, development opportunities, great benefits, and engaged managers. Major Duties And Responsibilities Utilizes and maintains credit analysis software. Underwrites existing and prospective commercial client requests; analyzes financial statements and compares client performance with industry and competitor trends. Periodically accompany Commercial Lenders on meetings with Commercial Members or at other business development events. Assess collateral offered and its marketability to ensure credit relationships meet internal policy guidelines and regulatory standards. Review and ensure commercial loan policy compliance throughout the lending process, including the review of various reports and loan approval conditions. Work closely with commercial lenders to understand the request, define credit requirements and risk mitigation, and make credit recommendations to the appropriate individual or committee. Assist the department in training and sharing knowledge with Commercial Credit Analyst I team members. Establish and maintain effective communication and working relations with Credit Union personnel and management, coordinating with related departments as needed. Review and help recommend various reports and other loan approval conditions. Maintain professional business relations with members and trade professionals; assist department personnel with administrative tasks as needed and protect the Credit Union's reputation. Comply with applicable laws and regulations, including BSA, Patriot Act, and OFAC; follow policies to minimize risk and exercise judgment as required. Requirements Experience 3+ years of Commercial Credit Analysis experience. Minimum of three years of Commercial Lending experience. Knowledge of Credit Union lending and collections programs, policies, and procedures. Understanding of financial analysis and determination of credit worthiness. Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and business, finance, and economics; ability to interpret multiple balance sheets and corporate data. Sageworks credit analysis software experience preferred. SBA experience preferred. Education/Certification/Licenses A college degree. Interpersonal Skills High level of trust, credibility and diplomacy. Ability to communicate with customers, colleagues, and external partners; comfortable with sensitive and confidential information. Strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly. Physical Requirements Sedentary work with occasional lifting up to 10 lbs. Ability to climb/descend stairs in emergencies. Proficient with routine office equipment and computer use (6-8 hours per day). Ability to work extended hours as needed and maintain reliable attendance. Working Conditions Indoor, climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise. Mental And/or Emotional Requirements Ability to work independently or in a team, follow written and oral instructions, communicate clearly, and interact professionally with diverse individuals.
