Personal Lines Account Manager at Shepherd Insurance

This role supports insurance advisors in handling new and renewal personal lines business. You will assist in processing applications, evaluating premiums, preparing proposals, and maintaining underwriting and marketing information. Additionally, you will provide customer service, account expansion, and cross‑selling support.
Responsibilities
Provide accurate, prompt, and positive service to clients.
Assist in marketing new and renewal business, evaluating premiums, preparing proposals, and maintaining underwriting and marketing information.
Support advisors with cross‑selling and account rounding.
Handle inbound client and company calls regarding coverage, claims, or administrative needs.
Maintain a suspense system to track outstanding orders, correspondence, and reports.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
At least two years of experience in a similar position.
Required state licensing certification.
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required; college degree preferred.
Strong understanding of personal lines insurance coverages, forms, procedures, and rating systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and agency document‑management systems.
Working Conditions / Physical Demands Work may require standing, walking, sitting, and hand use; occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Vision and hearing requirements include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and perception. Work environment is typically moderate in noise.
