Project Accountant – Construction Accountant – Development Accountant – Advanced Excel Are you an experienced accounting professional with construction, developmental, project accounting experience? If so, then please read more about the Project Accountant opportunity we have below. A DTLA professional services company is looking for a Project Accountant to add to their team. In this Project Accountant role, the Project Accountant will be responsible for project setup, billing, AR, AP, and financial reporting. To be successful in this role, the Project Accountant should have great communications skills, be collaborative, and be able to demonstrate confidentiality. What do you need for this Project Accountant role?

2-4 years of project accounting experience Familiarity using accounting software or ERP Advanced Excel Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field is preferred What will you do in this Project Accountant role?

Set up business development initiatives and live project phases in the accounting system, coordinating with other Project Accountants to ensure accuracy and consistency. Generate weekly net service revenue reports, incorporating updates and comments from Project Managers and Project Architects. Support project close-out processes in collaboration with Project Accountants. Review project contracts to extract and verify financial data for alignment with business development efforts and active project setups. Maintain organized records of contracts, invoices, AR aging, change orders, vendor and subcontractor documents, COIs, and other critical project logs. Post daily cash receipts and related journal entries for projects involving withholding taxes. Update and monitor billing & collection allocation files, ensuring accurate reconciliation with system data. Investigate unidentified wire transfers and checks to ensure proper allocation. Prepare mobilization and reimbursable expense invoices, including gathering and consolidating all supporting documentation. Compile weekly collection reports and generate statements of account. Manage AP functions including coding/posting vouchers, obtaining approvals, responding to vendor inquiries, and maintaining the pay-when-paid (PWP) tracking file. Pull and process vouchers for weekly PWP payments; notify consultants upon payment. Update the bi-monthly PWP status report on SharePoint following payment processing. Reconcile month-end PWP tracking logs against disbursement files. Review project phases in PowerBI to confirm backlog alignment with previously posted vouchers. Enter and track Independent Consultant (IC) invoices, identifying whether costs should be categorized as labor or expense per project. Input IC timecards when billed as labor. Upload vendor and consultant payments to the bank portal for processing. What is in this Project Accountant role for you?
