We are seeking a Universal Banker Trainee who will deliver excellent customer experiences, develop product knowledge, and identify referral opportunities that lead to strong customer outcomes. The trainee will remain in the role until they demonstrate the ability to place customers in the correct mix of products and services through needs-based questioning and meet performance and production goals set by the Banking Center Manager. Position Summary

The Universal Banker Trainee delivers excellent customer experiences, communicates effectively, and demonstrates knowledge of the bank’s products and services. It includes qualifying customer needs, referring opportunities to partners, and supporting customers through deposit, lending, and service activities. Primary Accountabilities

Acquire institutional knowledge of banking and the bank’s products and services. Receive cash and checks for deposits, verify amounts, endorsements, and review checks for potential fraud. Guard against counterfeit currency and ensure accurate cash handling. Cash checks, enter transactions into the computer system, and issue receipts in accordance with bank policy. Provide accurate customer service, balance cash drawer, and minimize teller differences. Develop knowledge of deposit and lending products to build customer relationships through needs-based questioning and referrals to business partners. Assist with basic deposit account openings and maintenance with coaching from a senior employee. Develop sales and product knowledge to achieve personal and team goals; track opportunities in the customer information software. Participate in onsite visits to promote programs and merchant services; engage in outbound teleconsulting to expand client relationships. Participate in weekly huddles and one-on-one coaching; serve as relief or backup teller as needed. Complete learning activities timely and model Midland States Bank core values; participate in community activities and initiatives. Occasional travel for training and team meetings; may require work in a Midland office to support customers. Maintain compliance with applicable regulations including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA). Education/Experience

Sales and customer service background. Ability

Stand for extended periods. Lift and transport coin and currency bags as required (25–50 lbs). Other Desired Qualifications
