We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our expanding team!

We operate 19 branch locations and 13 showrooms throughout Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina.
Function : This role is designed for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and wants to take ownership of key accounting functions. The Senior Accountant will focus on traditional month-end close, financial forecasting, transactional accounting across the balance sheet, and analytics. The ideal candidate will have a solid accounting background, attention to detail, and support the internal control environment as well as process improvements.
The Senior Accountant will contribute to the accuracy and integrity of financial data while ensuring compliance with accounting principles and PDI financial policies.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts, research variances, and resolve differences, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial transactions
Perform the requisite analyses and post monthly general ledger entries, including accruals and allocations
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, and generate financial reports and analysis to support management decision-making and tax compliance
Assist in inventory accounting processes, including valuation, cost of goods sold (COGS) calculations, and inventory reconciliations. Collaborate with inventory control and procurement teams to ensure accurate inventory records and reconcile physical inventory counts to the general ledger
Participate in the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial analysis and insights to support budget development. Monitor budget performance and collaborate with department managers to identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements
Conduct financial analysis, variance analysis, and trend analysis to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends. Provide insights and recommendations to management for improving financial performance, profitability, and operational efficiency.
Assist in tax compliance processes, including sales tax, use tax, and corporate income tax filings. Prepare supporting documentation and schedules for tax returns and assist in responding to inquiries from tax authorities.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements. Assist in the implementation and maintenance of internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
Develop supporting documentation and schedules to support external audits and financial reviews. Assist in preparing audit workpapers and addressing audit findings and recommendations.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (required)
3+ years of accounting experience with a focus on month-end close and reconciliations, preferably in the distribution industry or related field
Data and results-driven
Proficiency with accounting software (ERP systems) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a professional, team-oriented approach
Exceptional initiative and skillfully able to work independently as well as collaboratively
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy under pressure
