Commercial Financial Analyst This role reports to the Commercial Finance Manager and supports revenue forecasting, business case modeling, sales performance analysis, and price/cost tracking. The analyst provides actionable insights to the commercial and finance teams to drive profitable growth and maintain data integrity across planning, reporting, and forecasting systems.
Primary Responsibilities
Assist in developing monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue forecasts and outlooks.
Support the Annual Plan and Long‑Range Plan processes with sales and financial data analysis.
Consolidate and reconcile inputs from IHS, CRM pipeline, and sold orders to ensure accurate forecast data.
Prepare and maintain financial and commercial reports (pipeline, CBI revenue, dollar per car, margin performance).
Conduct variance analysis versus forecast/plan and provide commentary on key drivers.
Develop dashboards and reporting tools (Power‑BI) to track and communicate KPIs to stakeholders.
Monitor customer pricing and material cost trends.
Provide support on price/cost modeling for new business opportunities.
Track execution against annual pricing targets and support margin improvement initiatives.
Partner with sales managers and the Commercial Finance Manager to evaluate new opportunities and assist in building business cases.
Provide post‑launch financial reviews comparing program performance versus expectations.
Support CRM adoption and data integrity, including reporting on sold orders and pipeline accuracy.
Work closely with Finance and the Commercial team to provide financial insights that guide business decisions.
Support the Division Controller and Commercial Finance Manager with ad‑hoc financial analysis and corporate reporting requirements.
Position Skills and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. MBA or CPA/CFA preferred but not required.
2–4 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, preferably within a commercial or manufacturing environment.
Advanced Excel and strong data manipulation skills; Power‑BI proficiency.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret large data sets into actionable insights.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across functions and levels.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
