As a Personal Banker, you’ll be personable, goal-oriented, and have a passion for helping customers improve their financial health. You’ll help customers with daily financial challenges and gain insight into banking and finance. Commerce Bank recognizes and rewards people for their talent, skills, and contributions. Personal Bankers are ambassadors of the Commerce Bank brand, developing and maintaining long-lasting relationships with customers and other areas of the business. Your goal is to uncover the financial needs of each customer and provide solutions. Responsibilities
Receive the tools, resources, and training you need to be successful in your role and have opportunities to further your career with Commerce Bank. Deliver an excellent customer experience both in person and over the phone to meet customers’ financial needs. Actively listen to customers to make appropriate recommendations that match their needs. Educate customers on a variety of retail products and digital solutions that improve their financial wellness. Ensure financial transactions are completed accurately and efficiently, while complying with all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Establish relationships with other internal departments and refer customers to bank specialists when complex financial needs are identified. Be able to earn more than your base pay through our quarterly incentive program. Essential Functions
Interact with customers both in person and over the phone to meet financial needs through needs-based conversations and sales fulfillment. Actively listen, understand, and recommend products and services to achieve sales and service goals. Educate customers on retail products and digital solutions to enhance the customer experience and contribute to sales goals. Ensure financial transactions are completed accurately and in compliance with policies and regulatory requirements. Identify complex financial needs and refer customers to bank specialists when appropriate. Perform other duties as assigned. Work Schedule
Monday–Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.; Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong sales skills with the ability to provide an excellent customer experience in person and over the phone. Ability to meet personal and branch sales and customer service expectations. Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Team player with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to remain adaptable with an optimistic outlook aligned with our culture and Core Values. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Education & Experience
High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required. 1+ years sales or customer service experience required. Experience with individual and team sales goals preferred. Position may be filled as a Personal Banker I or a Personal Banker II, depending on experience and education. Regulatory and Compliance
For this position, federal regulations require Commerce Bank to prepare an investigatory consumer report which will disclose credit history. If you express interest and are considered for this position, you will be asked to authorize that report. Compensation Disclosure
For applicants in pay transparency jurisdictions, Commerce provides a reasonable estimate of the compensation range: $20.00 to $24.40 per hour for the Personal Banker I or II level, with additional incentive opportunities based on performance. Location, skill sets, education, experience, and other factors may affect final compensation. Benefits
