Responsibilities
The Emergency Technician is accountable for performing routine care under the direction of the RN. S/he provides for the comfort of the patient and communicates according to protocol. The role includes acting as a model for the mission and patient promise of AdventHealth, working within the Florida Nurse Practice Act, regulatory standards, established policies, protocols and procedures, and using other references as guidelines for clinical practice. Key responsibilities include: Provides supportive care to patients under the direct supervision of an RN. Ventilates a patient with an ambu-bag and suctiones patients as needed under the direct supervision of an RN or provider. Performs electrocardiograms within the designated timeframe. Assists patients to unclothe themselves and places patients on the monitor as indicated. Responds to stroke alerts in the ED and safely transports patients as outlined in policy. Provides and documents treatments and procedures as indicated and within the defined scope of practice. Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed : Completion of High School/GED Current Florida State Nursing Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician Certification or Certified Medical Assistant EMT or Paramedic Or completion of introductory nursing in an approved RN program Current American Heart Association BLS certification
