Sales Agronomist III - Missouri and Eastern Kansas
We are hiring multiple Sales Agronomists in the following regions. Please specify your preferred geographic area in your application:
Southeast KS, Southwest MO, Eastern KS, Central MO, Northeast MO, Eastern MO
The Sales Agronomist (SA) is a key local expert on Bayer Crop Science products, technology, and innovations. You will advise growers to drive in-season success by building relationships, identifying needs, and providing agronomic insights. Your role is vital in expanding Bayer's market share and executing agronomic strategies from planning to harvest.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The main responsibilities for this role include:
Developing a comprehensive Bayer portfolio business plan with Field Sales Representatives (FSRs) for your assigned region, focusing on approximately 100 high-growth growers;
Building relationships with key growers by offering value-added support, including agronomic advice and product recommendations;
Leading demand generation plans to meet team goals and supporting colleagues;
Providing whole-farm agronomic advice, staying informed on agricultural research;
Driving Bayer portfolio trials with targeted growers;
Supporting seasonal milestones such as crop planning, in-season needs, scouting, and harvest monitoring;
Collaborating with FSRs, TAs, and SeedPros on business planning and understanding grower objectives;
Resolving performance issues and supporting growers' needs during the season;
Making strategic recommendations to leadership to improve results;
Engaging with peers on programs and issues for alignment and support;
Monitoring grower account progress, tracking activities, and identifying new opportunities;
Managing an annual SG&A budget and program expenditures; travel approximately 60%, involving face-to-face customer interactions.

Required Qualifications:

Knowledge of Bayer’s current and future products and initiatives;
Strategic thinking using business insights;
Digital fluency with industry tools and data-driven decision-making;
Strong analytical, sales, negotiation skills, and ability to drive results;
Excellent facilitation, presentation, writing, and conflict management skills;
Ability to develop strategic relationships and influence customer behavior;
Strong task management and multitasking abilities;
Networking and consultative sales skills;
Quick learning and application of agronomic knowledge;
Valid driver’s license and ability to drive, possibly under DOT/FMCSA regulations, involving safe hauling.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business, or related field;
At least 8 years of relevant experience in agronomy, sales, or marketing;
Experience working with sales teams and remotely.
Employees can expect a salary between $89,600 and $134,400, with potential bonuses or commissions. Benefits include health care, dental, vision, retirement, PTO, and more. Salary may vary based on location, experience, education, and other factors.
