Grocery Manager Job Purpose Job Summary Assists in the management of the daily operations in the grocery department and supervises the grocery team with stocking and store conditioning. Increases customer confidence and loyalty by promoting and executing consistent and compliant operating conditions. Provides fresh and appealing products, courteous, knowledgeable, and prompt service. Executes merchandising plans as outlined in department planners, toolkits or event packs, mindful of merchandising standards, product levels, shrink, and sales trends. Supervises, trains, and develops associates on performance of their job and provides coaching as needed. This is a working management position that requires a balance of physical labor, delegation, team building and leadership, planning, and administrative work. KPI: Store Turnover Goals Customer Connection-OSAT: Deliver a consistent shopping experience by creating Little Winns for our customers. KPI: OSAT (Availability, Cleanliness) Operations-Cases per Hour Goal: Lead team to deliver on center store productivity goals. KPI: Cases per Hour Goal Growth-Center Store Sales: Deliver on financial goals. KPI: Center Store Sales Budget Growth-Center Store Shrink: Deliver on financial goals. KPI: Center Store Shrink Budget Essential Responsibilities Service:

Assists in creating an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated to help build and retain customer confidence and loyalty. Ensures the department is merchandised per plan. Delivers daily conditions that meet the company’s expectations for at shelf product availability, freshness, quality, and value. Trains department associates on freshness, inventory levels, stocking and ordering and shelf conditioning. Shows customers assistance in finding or suggesting products. (Approximately 30% of time) Leadership:

Assists in promoting trust and respect among associates by collaborating, promoting teamwork, and communicating company, department, and job specific information. Assists in establishing goals for merchandising, sales and profits and empowers the team to meet or exceed goals by managing schedules to ensure tasks are completed in a cadence that ensures the highest levels of customer service and conditions during peak hours. Adheres to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines. (Approximately 30% of time) Financials:

Completes daily and weekly administrative tasks (communications, online training, scheduling, pricing changes, orders, etc.). Maintains awareness of inventory/stocking conditions and reports discrepancies. Reviews/inspects products for quality and freshness and takes appropriate action. Assists in planning and organizing the inventory process. Ensures product is held at proper temperature per food safety guidelines and retains documentation of temperature logs per policy. (Approximately 20% of time) Compliance/Safety:

Ensures company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation and productivity are maintained. Adheres to regulatory requirements pertaining to food safety, USDA & COOL, and DOA. Executes recalls/withdrawals in a timely manner and secures items from customer access. Reinforces safety programs by complying with safety procedures and inspecting unsafe conditions. Notifies management of accidents. Reports safety risks or issues, including robbery, theft, or fraud. Ensures wage and hour policy adherence and safety training. Maintains Hazardous Assessments and PPE availability. Ensures equipment is in good repair and assists with remediation of safety hazards. Qualifications Required Education Course of Study High School / GED Preferred Education Course of Study Relevant Experience Supervisory Experience 0 - 3 yrs minimum Language(s) Required Language(s) Preferred English English & Spanish Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required Must be at least 18 years of age Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently Strong customer service skills Exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills Knowledge of basic math Proficient with computer applications used in effectively operating the department Ability to handle stressful situations Possession of Food Safety Certification or the ability to obtain same within 180 days of placement Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred NA Environmental Factors Department Retail Environmental Factors Retail - General Heavy: Physical Demands: The employee is regularly required to stand or walk, use manual dexterity, speak, see, hear, and perform repetitive movements. Reaches, lifts up to required weights, and may work in various indoor/outdoor conditions. May be exposed to loud noise, cleaning chemicals, and other hazards.
