Orthopaedic Associates of Maine is hiring a full-time Advanced Practice Provider to join our Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery team in Portland, ME. Position Summary

Providers working in the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) position deliver exceptional patient care in both the specialty clinics and as the first assist to our orthopaedic surgeons in surgery. In clinic the APPs see New, follow up, and pre-op & post-op patients with graduated responsibility for patient management under physician supervision. In the operating room they assist preparing patients for surgery and directly assisting the surgeon during the procedures in both our surgery center and at local hospitals. Occasional on-call and off hours coverage is required including availability to answer patient calls/questions, assisting with urgent surgeries when needed and rounding. Our APPs are an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, providing high quality healthcare, and supporting our physicians and guiding to clinical staff. Responsibilities

See patients in clinic (new, follow-up, pre-op and post-op) with graduated responsibility under physician supervision. Assist in the operating room, preparing patients for surgery and directly assisting during procedures at our surgery center and local hospitals. Provide occasional on-call and off-hours coverage, answer patient questions, and assist with urgent surgeries as needed. Contribute to a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality healthcare and support clinical staff. Qualifications

Advanced Practice Professional (PA or NP with an RNFA) with a focus on hand, wrist, and elbow; some exposure to general orthopaedics. 70% clinical and 30% operative work with call responsibility approximately 1:8. Call taken from home. 32 or 40 hours (0.8 or 1.0 FTE) depending on candidate preference. Benefits
