Position Description: Overall Responsibility: Oversee, facilitate, and lead the spiritual development of children and youth (birth through high school) in a way that brings honor and glory to God. This includes creating a seamless pipeline from children’s ministry through youth ministry and into young adulthood. Key Responsibilities: · Develop and implement Biblically-based, culturally-relevant, and engaging ministries for children and youth. · Provide vision and direction to reach both unchurched families and those within the church through events, small groups, retreats, service opportunities, and age-appropriate gatherings. · Collaborate with church leadership and ministerial staff to support overall church ministry and vision. · Recruit, train, and lead teams of volunteers and small group leaders and meet with them regularly to discuss, strategize and implement the plans. · Create dynamic, high-energy programs that are spiritually formative and enjoyable. · Foster smooth transitions between children’s ministry, youth ministry, and young adult ministry. · Engage and support parents, equipping them to disciple their children and youth. · Develop and manage annual ministry budgets for children and youth programs. · Write regular content for church communications and utilize social media to help promote the ministry, reach the younger generations and keep families and volunteers informed and engaged. · Attend leadership meetings at all levels (elders/staff, ministerial, council, etc.). · Collaborate with preschool leadership, including attending meetings and engaging with staff and families. · Partner with the Worship Team to include children and youth in special services. Ministry Expectations: · Grow ministries both numerically and spiritually through outreach, evangelism, and strong Biblical teaching. · Ensure each child and youth receives age-appropriate, Bible-based instruction that encourages faith development. · Plan and lead special events, retreats, mission trips, and service projects. · Identify and utilize effective ministry resources and attend relevant training, conferences, and seminars. · Maintain strong, open communication with parents and engage them in ministry participation. · Understand and address the unique challenges and cultural dynamics affecting families and youth today. · Use ministry as a tool for community outreach and evangelism. · Provide organization and order at each children/youth gathering. Personal Expectations: · Be above reproach as a church leader, living a life of integrity and Christlike character. · Maintain a vibrant personal walk with God through Bible study, prayer, and worship. · Prioritize family and model a healthy balance of ministry and home life. · Actively engage in the life of the church, embodying the family-centered spirit of CPCC. · Be flexible and adaptable as church needs and roles evolve. · Uphold and support the mission, vision, values, and leadership of College Park Christian Church. Qualifications: · Fulfill Biblical qualifications for overseers as described in 1 Timothy 3:2–7 and Titus 1:6–9. · A baptized (by immersion) believer who teaches and models baptism as part of salvation. · Spiritually mature and resilient, with the ability to navigate ministry challenges effectively. · Friendly, approachable, and a team-builder who inspires others to serve. · Strong communicator, both verbally and in writing. · Lifelong learner, open to feedback and personal growth. Education and Experience: · Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in children’s or youth ministry (both preferred). · Bachelor’s Degree in Children’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, Biblical Studies, or a related field is preferred (extensive ministry experience may be considered in lieu of degree). · Further training through seminars and conferences is expected.
