Regional School Unit 57 is seeking a Van Driver. The successful candidate will have a High School diploma or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience, and hold a valid State of Maine Operators License for a minimum of two years.
The Van Driver will be responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and routing of the assigned school van on a day-to-day basis. This includes safely operating the school van, checking the van for mechanical defects, cleaning and maintaining the van, and enforcing rules governing student conduct.

High School diploma or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience Hold a valid State of Maine Operators License for a minimum of two years Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with students, parents, community, and school personnel Responsibilities
Safely operate school van on a daily basis Check van before each operation for mechanical defects and report any defects Clean assigned van inside daily and wash inside and outside monthly or sooner if appropriate Discharge students only at authorized stops Enforce rules governing student conduct on vans and utilize district’s formal discipline procedure when appropriate Report any damage to the vehicle to Transportation Director File accident report as necessary Utilize safe driving practices in accordance with State law Refer all requests from parents concerning transportation changes to the Director of Transportation Assist in inter-school delivery of mail, and supplies Ensure that the van is empty and secured whenever the van is unattended Physical Demands
