Job Summary

Performs protective, law enforcement and security services to protect patients, visitors, teammates, and property. Investigates criminal acts on hospital grounds, makes arrests, protects life and property, patrols hospital buildings and grounds and prevents theft and vandalism. Acts as first responder to any imminent threat to life or safety. What You'll Need

Basic law enforcement training required General law enforcement certification per North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards or ability to transfer certification from another jurisdiction What You'll Do

Intervene appropriately with unruly, abusive, combative, threatening, or armed individuals. Apprehend and arrest individuals for criminal activity. Complete investigations within assigned jurisdiction, make arrests, and process defendants per NC criminal proceedings. Respond to routine and emergency calls for assistance. Complete incident reports and other documentation. Communicate calmly and effectively; coordinate with community police agencies as appropriate. Provide armed response to imminent threats on Atrium Health property. Assist teammates and serve as subject matter expert in criminal process. Prepare criminal cases for court, attend court, and testify in proceedings. Pay Range
