Position Summary: LTYC s seeking an innovative and enthusiastic STEAM Instructor to teach integrated, project-based lessons in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math for students in grades K–8. The ideal candidate is passionate about hands-on learning and inquiry-based education, and can inspire students to explore real-world problem solving through creative and collaborative experiences. This is an independent contractor position and not an employee role.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver engaging STEAM lessons and activities that combine science, technology, engineering, art, and math concepts.

Foster creative thinking, teamwork, innovation, and experimentation in a student-centered classroom.

Incorporate hands-on projects such as simple robotics, design challenges, coding, circuits, 3D building, environmental science, and more.

Use tools such as LEGO kits, Makey Makey, Scratch, simple circuits, or other age-appropriate tech.

Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of various age groups and learning styles.

Promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills through open-ended inquiry and collaborative learning.

Maintain a safe and organized lab or makerspace environment.

Collaborate with school staff for interdisciplinary integration or school-wide events

Provide basic assessment and feedback on student engagement and understanding.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Degree or relevant experience in Education, Engineering, Technology, Science, Math, or a related STEAM field.

At least 3 years of prior experience teaching STEAM to children, ideally in an elementary or middle school setting.

Strong classroom management skills and a student-centered teaching approach.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to adapt lessons for different age groups and learning styles.

Passion for the arts and a commitment to nurturing creativity in young learners.

Additional Requirements:

Independent Contractor Agreement: Must be signed upon acceptance.

References: Three professional references required, including at least one from a previous position working with children.

Transportation: Must have reliable transportation to and from school site(s).

Certifications:

Valid CPR & First Aid certification.

Proof of educational background and professional certifications (if applicable).

Health Clearance:

A letter from a physician confirming candidate is in good health , free from communicable diseases (including TB).

Must provide a current background check from CJIS (including state, federal, and childcare clearance).
