Safety Manager
Hourly Rate:
$45–$50 Location:
On-site role - Vancleave, MS Schedule:
Full-Time | 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Sirius Staffing is seeking a Safety Manager for a leading tree care services company. This hands‑on role is ideal for a Certified Treecare Safety Professional (CTSP) or an experienced safety leader who’s passionate about building and maintaining a strong safety culture. The Safety Manager will be the on‑site expert overseeing compliance, crew training, and safe operations across tree removal, pruning, stump grinding, and storm cleanup projects.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary on‑site safety leader, providing guidance, supervision, and training to arboricultural field crews.
Develop, implement, and enforce company safety policies and procedures in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including ANSI Z133 safety standards.
Conduct thorough pre‑job hazard assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks; create site‑specific safety plans for each job.
Lead and facilitate regular safety meetings, including job‑site tailgates and daily safety huddles.
Oversee and train crews in the safe operation of all tree care equipment, such as chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
Ensure consistent and proper use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Provide on‑the‑job training and coaching in technical safety skills, including climbing, rigging, and emergency procedures.
Conduct and document incident investigations; develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Maintain accurate records of safety training, incident reports, inspections, and compliance audits.
Monitor and ensure proper maintenance and safe use of all tools and equipment.
Stay current on industry safety standards, OSHA regulations, and best practices through continuing education.
Qualifications
Certification:
Current Certified Treecare Safety Professional (CTSP) from TCIA preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years in tree care, utility line clearance, or construction safety, including 1 year in a safety role.
A degree in Arboriculture, Occupational Safety, or related field may substitute for some experience.
Knowledge:
Strong understanding of OSHA 1910.269, ANSI Z133, and electrical hazard safety standards.
Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.; no sponsorship available.
Skills:
Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and risk assessment abilities with a focus on crew engagement and proactive safety.
Physical Requirements:
Able to stand for long periods, walk uneven terrain, lift up to 50 lbs., and safely operate hand and power tools.
Preferred Certifications:
OSHA 30-Hour Construction Training, First Aid/CPR.
