The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Oneida/Huntsville is accepting applications for the position of part-time Automotive Technology Adjunct Instructor to be located at the Huntsville campus. Classes will be held Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. A high standard of personal and professional ethics with a sincere interest in teaching is desired. Job Duties
Prepare syllabi of courses of study with detailed lesson plans and follow the established curriculum of the Automotive Technology program. Teach and instruct students through lectures, demonstrations, and/or audio-visual aids. Administer tests to evaluate student progress. Provide individual evaluation of each student’s progress with counseling and appropriate recommendations when required. Maintain all confidential student academic records related to the program (i.e., grades, attendance, discipline, etc.). Maintain good public relations with industry partners. Maintain ongoing competencies required for ASE certification by participating in continuing education opportunities to remain current in the field. Accurately prepare and submit all required documentation/reports by set deadlines. Attend workshops and/or other training programs to remain current in the industry. Maintain a clean and safe environment for student learning. Source and request needed instructional supplies and equipment necessary for proper student instruction. Inspect equipment and supplies to ensure operational safety. Minimum Qualifications
Associate Degree or Diploma from an accredited training program in Automotive Technology Minimum of three (3) years’ related work experience Must possess the organizational and communications skills necessary to be an effective teacher Must commit to remain current in the Automotive profession and maintain program accrediting status Must show evidence of teaching ability Must have ability to interact with students Must show evidence of good character, mature attitude and stable personality Must possess computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel) Preferred Qualifications
ASE Certified Master Automotive Technician Teaching experience Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Basic computer skills Verbal and Written Communication Skills Interpersonal Skills Planning and Organization Skills with Strong Attention to Detail and Accuracy Time Management Ability to evaluate and monitor student progress Evidence of good ability in instruction Evidence of good character, mature attitude, and stable personality Salary:
Commensurate with Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology salary guidelines A criminal background check will be required for the selected applicant
