We are seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to support a team of corporate, transactional, and litigation lawyers in their growing San Diego office. This is an exciting opportunity to be the first hands-on legal secretary in this location, playing a key role in shaping the office’s administrative operations.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to attorneys
Format, edit, and finalize legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, motions, and correspondence
Handle e-filing in state and federal courts (priority given to candidates with direct e-filing experience)
Assist attorneys in pre-, during-, and post-trial stages
Manage attorney calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel arrangements
Process conflicts of interest checks and assist with new client onboarding
Handle timekeeping, billing, and expense reporting
Monitor calls, emails, and correspondence while prioritizing urgent tasks
Support a mix of corporate, transactional, and litigation attorneys, including partners and associates
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience supporting both litigation and transactional attorneys
E-filing experience required (hands-on filing experience, not just docketing)
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Experience handling state and federal filings, timekeeping, and billing
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
High school diploma or equivalent required
