Help Students Develop and Practice Literacy Skills (age 18+) Referral
Today, thousands of children in this region would benefit from the support of a mentor. At the same time, many older adults seek meaningful ways to help younger people succeed in school and life. Parkrose Mentors bring generations together to provide support for students in our local community.
Join us as a Parkrose Mentor and enrich your life by sharing your time and skills with a young person at a critical stage of development.
As a mentor, you will not only be helping a student but also growing personally and finding fulfillment in making a difference.
As a Parkrose Mentor, you will: Meet with an elementary or middle school student in person or online one to two times a week for 30-45 minutes to help them develop and practice their literacy skills. Utilize various techniques that we provide, including training and materials, to enhance students' literacy skills. Only need a personal love of reading and of being around students (no prior teaching experience necessary).
Time Commitment: One to two times a week for 30-45 minutes (flexible days), morning and/or afternoon
About SAGE: We inspire people over fifty to give forward with their time, money, and voice so that younger and future generations can thrive.
Won’t you join us and help shape the future of students in our community?
