What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
Review medical records to ensure accuracy and specificity of diagnoses and procedures Apply ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 coding conventions to assign primary and secondary diagnoses Ensure correct DRG/APC assignment to optimize reimbursement Compile and extract necessary data from medical records to support billing processes Provide backup assistance for administrative functions as needed What is Required (Qualifications):
High school diploma or GED required Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification Expertise in ICD-9 and CPT coding systems Understanding of DRG/APC reimbursement processes Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
