Organization Neurodiagnostic – EEG

Job Summary Prepares patients for and conducts routine Neurodiagnostic procedures, such as neonatal exams, at the bedside, and in critical care units, on all ages of patients served by the department with occasional guidance. Collects data pertinent to the interpretation of test results and assists other senior technologists or medical staff with complex recordings.

Position Schedule Dayshift – M – F – 3 12‑hour shifts per week (6:30am‑7:00pm)

Key Responsibilities

Performs all Neurodiagnostic procedures as assigned in at least one modality in accordance with the established department and hospital policies and procedures.

Demonstrates competency in performing procedures on all ages under general supervision.

Assists to identify patient and family learning needs and provides pertinent information regarding the procedure that is appropriate for age and level of learning to the patient and/or family.

Technical Capabilities

Patient Evaluation (Fundamental Awareness): Has limited experience, training, direct exposure, or past experience conducting a simple patient evaluations. Capable of identifying the health risks and patient needs.

Medical Terminology & Documentation (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate medical terminology and documentation in practical applications of moderate difficulty.

Equipment Maintenance (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate the ability to maintain equipment, products, or systems in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Assures that parts inventory is sufficient.

Diagnostic Testing (Fundamental Awareness): Demonstrates proficiency of diagnostic testing in practical applications. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully delivering results.
