Classified Positions
Summary and relationship to the curriculum:
All classified positions will strengthen the delivery of instruction to support the District’s mission. This position assists in providing safe and timely pupil transportation services to and from school. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assists the bus driver with the safety, movement, management, and care of the students while boarding the bus, leaving the bus, and being transported. Ensures proper loading and securement of wheelchairs and other equipment as required. Maintains student behavior on the bus and communicates with parents as needed, referring infractions to the appropriate personnel. Assists the bus driver in teaching bus safety rules to students. Keeps a log of all activities on the bus. Assists the bus driver with post-trip student checks after each route following District procedures. Completes training and reports as required. Possesses a working knowledge of all bus safety protocols. Performs emergency evacuation procedures when necessary. Maintains external and internal cleanliness of the bus for safety and comfort. Assists the driver with updating route sheets and student rosters for accuracy. Remains familiar with the assigned bus route and stop locations. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High school diploma or GED. Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend technical information, instructions, memos, and manuals; ability to write correspondence and reports; effective communication skills in one-on-one and small group settings. Mathematical Skills:
Ability to perform basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Reasoning Ability:
Ability to facilitate problem-solving processes and develop workable solutions from given facts. Technical Ability:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other specified technologies. Customer Service Skills:
Ability to interact tactfully and effectively with colleagues, staff, students, and administrators; demonstrate cooperation and a service-oriented attitude. Professional Requirements:
Must serve as a role model to students; maintain appropriate dress and grooming standards. Physical Demands:
Regular walking, standing, and lifting; occasional crouching or kneeling; ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Work Environment:
Frequent outdoor work, exposure to traffic, outdoor elements, and moderate noise levels. Travel to various sites is required. Confidential Data Exposure:
Handling of confidential financial and personal data, requiring confidentiality. Additional Requirements:
