Novant Health Careers Job Summary This is a fully remote position for candidates who reside in FL, GA, IN, LA, MS, NV, NC, OK, SC, VA, WY; video conferencing and onsite attendance are required as directed by Corporate Coding Leadership. Abstracts and codes medical data at the Certified Hospital Coder III level. Responsibilities mainly involve inpatient accounts. Training is provided upon hire, and supervisors monitor progress to ensure productivity and accuracy. Additional training may be provided as needed. Applicants undergo assessments evaluating ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT coding knowledge. Overtime may be required based on organizational needs. Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and basic computer skills. Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and work overtime if necessary. Preferred Skills Experience in data entry, coding, research, and communication within a medical coding context. Continuous learning and mentoring abilities.
