This position is responsible for independently managing the marketing/placement of new account opportunities (small business) with partner insurance carriers. Responsible for providing support to Select Commercial producers as a resource for negotiating carrier coverages and terms, preparation of proposals, and finalizing the placement/binding process. Responsibilities

Establish/maintain a relationship with the production team; obtain pertinent information via the producer to obtain a quotation. Establish and maintain a strong relationship with carrier partners. Serve as a source of knowledge of appetite, market trends, pricing practices, contacts, and other underwriting policies. Take part in carrier meetings and share information with Select operations and sales. Negotiate and sell opportunities to carrier partners for interest; quote online via carrier rating tools or submit to underwriter; collaborate with Team Lead when necessary. Prepare marketing summaries outlining terms, rates, commission, bind order documents, and carrier responses including reason for declination. Bind coverage with underwriters and finalize the marketing process. Maintain complete and accurate documentation in agency management systems and the marketing file for each account. Perform essential functions; meet service standards and best practices developed by USI. Additional projects and duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

3-7 years’ experience in Commercial Property & Casualty with understanding of coverage, placement, underwriting and rating concepts. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal instruction, strong business acumen, and a high degree of initiative. Sales driven and solution-oriented to help meet production and growth goals. Ability to solve problems and negotiate creatively and proactively. Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate work. Knowledge of industry trends, legislation, coverages, and technology to improve knowledge and performance. Knowledge of agency management systems, workflow procedures, underwriting, sales, and service processes. Proficient in Word and Excel; strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Must hold state Property & Casualty Insurance License. Maintain cordial relationships with production team, co-workers, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts; ability to work in a team environment.
