Conduct regular Key Elements of Safety (KES) inspections of equipment and facilities and serve as a resource for employee safety committees in collaboration with the Safety Manager and/or Regional Safety. Administer required postings; prepare monthly safety metrics and leadership dashboard. Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports; analyze trends to recommend engineering/administrative controls and training focus. Assist supervisors in investigating workplace incidents and devising action plans to prevent a recurrence. Audit contractor qualifications, insurance, training, permits, and safety plans; monitor on-site work. Align safety controls with GMP, HACCP, and customer/third-party audits/compliance. Assist with incident/near-miss investigations using 5-Why/Fishbone to verify the effectiveness of corrective actions. Conduct training on Health and Safety for management, employees, and visitors. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision on projects within teams. Lead/coach JHA/JSA, machine-specific LOTO procedures, and risk assessments for new processes/equipment and changes (MOC). Maintain emergency action plans, drills, evacuation/spill, and support crisis management and business continuity activities. Support noise, air, and other Industrial Hygiene assessments; coordinate sampling with third parties; assist ergo assessments and improvements. Additional Roles
Primarily weekday shift; periodic off-shift/weekend presence to audit training/compliance and support incident response. Participates in on-call rotation and may receive calls after hours. TRIR/DART reduction, near-miss reporting rate, audit/CAPA closure on time, training completion %, repeat-incident reduction, and corrective action effectiveness. Support safety committees, Good Catch/near-miss programs, recognitions, and leadership safety walks; communicate learnings via huddles and visual management. Qualifications
Safety experience in Industrial/Mechanical/Environmental discipline or equivalent; Associate/bachelor’s preferred. 2–5 years in manufacturing/industrial safety. Demonstrated experience with LOTO, machine guarding, PIT, confined space, hot work, incident investigation, and audits. OSHA 30 (General Industry) required or obtained within 6 months; First Aid/CPR/AED within 90 days. OSHA 511/510, National Institute of Safety and Health Certificates within 1 year. Working knowledge of health and safety programs, NFPA 70E, HazCom/GHS, and GMP/HACCP. Strong facilitation, influencing, and written/oral communication. Proficiency in Microsoft 365; data analysis/Power BI a plus. Able to assist with JHAs, SOPs, and policy/procedures. Physical Demands and Work Environment
Frequent walking/standing; occasional kneeling, climbing stairs/ladders, and accessing elevated platforms and confined areas. Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 40–50 lbs. occasionally; wear required PPE (safety shoes, eye/ear protection, gloves, etc.). Exposure to moving machinery, wet/humid/cold/hot environments, and moderate to high noise; occasional outdoor work. Compensation Package: $58,800.00 - $78,500.00 USD annually + bonus eligibility. The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education and training, and other organizational needs.
