Job Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Athletic Equipment Manager, the Athletic Equipment Assistant supports the management of athletic equipment and supplies used by the 19 sports of the intercollegiate sports program.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with receiving, taking inventory of, and tracking, storing, repairing and distributing equipment and uniforms for approximately 300 student-athletes. Assist with collecting and laundering uniforms, practice gear and team travel gear. Collect items delivered to University Receiving for coaches and staff.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Ability to sort, maintain and inventory supplies. Ability to mend and do simple sewing by hand and machine. Experience in the collection and laundering of uniforms and practice gear. Previous desktop computer experience. Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel preferred. Ability to input data and keep simple records. Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience
Equivalent to high school diploma required.
Licenses
CA Driver's License required. First Aid Certificate required.
Physical Summary
Medium work - Job involves lifting heavy-weight objects (20-40 pounds) and/or 20% - 40% of the job involves standing, squatting, kneeling, or walking. May require pushing or pulling objects within the weight limits.
