SCHEELS is a leader in the sporting goods industry. The Firearms Sales Associate is responsible for actively seeking out customers and providing world‑class customer service.

Responsibilities

Ensure all paperwork for firearm sales including form 4473, licensing, and background checks are completed accurately and thoroughly

Consistently demonstrate proper firearm safety and handling

Evaluate and appraise firearms for resale

Exercise good judgement when interacting with customers when shopping for firearms

Have a well‑rounded knowledge of all facets of the firearm industry including ammunition, reloading, and optics

Follow all company policies and procedures

Legally own a firearm

Stop a straw purchase

Greet all customers on the sales floor with courtesy and a smile

Grow personal sales by hitting minimum goals and following Scheels professional salesmanship standards

Promote the Scheels Visa card and be able to clearly explain all benefits

Engage in conversation with customers and assist them in making buying decisions

Demonstrate a passion for products in our store

Attend Scheels product training and all store meetings

Maintain a professional appearance on the sales floor

Assist in all other assigned duties

Perform basic math; compute rate, ratio, and percent

Read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos

Effectively present information in a one‑on‑one and small group situation to customers and other employees

Demonstrate strong communication, organization, attention to detail and problem solving skills

Help with freight/stocking when needed

Demonstrate product usage within shop and retrieve product from heights greater than 6 ft.

Have a valid FOID card

Requirements

Ability to apply concepts of basic math, grammar, punctuation and spelling

Meets Scheels dress and grooming expectations in support of professional, clean and welcoming environment for customers, co‑workers and business partners

Demonstrate pride and ownership of their work while meeting expected deadlines
