Overview
Seasonal Hourly Shift - Seasonal Administrative Assistant (Training Division) at Maryland Military Department. The role provides secretarial and financial duties for the Maryland Park Service Training Division staff. Work is performed indoors and outdoors under various weather conditions. Responsibilities
Schedules instructors, reserves facilities and orders food for training in State Parks Enters data using Excel spreadsheets and Google Suite programs Organizes and coordinates Google Drives, forms, Training Calendar and Training website Tracks training inventories and stocks training supplies Copies, files and scans training documents for staff and instructors Minimum Qualifications
Experience:
At least one year of personal or professional computer experience and/or software applications experience (Microsoft Office Suite or Google Suite preferred). Education:
High school diploma or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. Licenses, Registrations and Certifications
Employees may be assigned duties requiring operation of a motor vehicle, UTV or golf cart. Must possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland and five points or fewer on the driving record. A provisional driver’s license will not be accepted as the restrictions may interfere with job requirements. Special Requirements
Applicants selected for employment may undergo an employment background investigation, including, but not limited to: employment reference check, education verification, driving record check (if the position requires driving) and a criminal history check including fingerprinting. Continued employment will be contingent on the results. Selection Process

Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, who work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits for themselves and dependents. The employee pays 25% of the premiums; the State subsidizes 75%. Dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance may be available with the employee paying full premiums for these benefits. Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period. Leave accrues at one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
