We deliver secure, high-quality language access in 80+ spoken and signed languages for USCIS and other federal agencies. We are seeking Mixtec Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Mixtec, a group of indigenous languages spoken primarily in Oaxaca, Puebla, and Guerrero, Mexico, is a rare but high-demand language often required in asylum and immigration cases. Responsibilities
Provide real-time Mixtec-English telephonic interpretation for USCIS interviews, hearings, and asylum proceedings. Interpret accurately, impartially, and with cultural sensitivity in immigration and legal contexts. Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to USCIS/DHS interpreter ethics standards. Support both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge requests. Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance audits. Qualifications
Native or near-native fluency in Mixtec (any regional variety) and English. 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, community, asylum, or NGO/government strongly preferred). Cultural knowledge of indigenous Mexican communities. Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and neutrality. Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 clearance. Compensation & Benefits
