The Ames High School coaching staff is seeking an Assistant Winter Cheer Coach for the 2025-26 season. Work Schedule
During the season, the work schedule will be 2-3 hours daily M-F. Various nights and weekends are also required for meets and games. Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Assists the head coach in supervising, instructing and teaching the skills needed to be a cheerleader. Attends all practices and has the ability to coach at an individual, small group and team level. Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators. Communicates effectively with coaching staff, student-athletes, parents and school administration. Participates in special events to include banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies. Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures. Abides by strict confidentiality at all times. Assists with other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
A current Safety Certification-Iowa Coaches Cheer Association. Preferred Qualifications
Experience in coaching cheerleading at the high school level. Coaching Authorization
