Overview

Description of Basic Functions and Responsibilities. The Shasta-Tehama-Trinity Community College District is a collaborative and inclusive organization serving a diverse student population. Under administrative leadership, it is the responsibility of the full-time college instructor to teach classes and participate in processes that improve instruction and programs, support student success, and advance the district mission. Responsibilities

Meet classes/laboratories as assigned within the academic calendar. Develop and implement instruction for each class and laboratory period, aligned with official course outlines and district guidelines. For online and hybrid courses, maintain online course components and provide regular student contact. Distribute a syllabus in the first week of class and communicate course requirements. Provide regular feedback and timely return of graded work; assign final grades per district policy and applicable law. Refer students to tutoring and related services as appropriate; supervise students in off-campus activities when required by coursework. Offer academic assistance during scheduled office hours and participate in professional development. Submit required administrative paperwork, including student learning outcomes, in a timely manner. Fulfill discipline-specific and additional responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or higher with two years of professional experience, or an associate degree with six years of professional experience. Master’s degree holders require professional experience related to teaching assignment. Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse student population and to design and deliver courses in multiple modalities (in-person, online, hybrid). Effective communication skills, ability to assess student learning outcomes, and commitment to current subject-matter knowledge. Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills

Ability to work with colleagues to promote innovation in teaching and service to a diverse student population. Ability to recruit and articulate with local schools and community partners; strong written and oral communication. Willingness to explore new technologies and teaching practices; sensitivity to diverse backgrounds including disabilities and socioeconomic factors. Start Date and Benefits
