Overview
Postdoctoral Fellow - Radiation Oncology - Grosshans Lab. The post-doctoral research fellow will execute research projects under the supervision of a principal investigator, with a focus on developing skills to transition the trainee from mentored research to independent research. This position will support research projects in varied areas of biology and biomedical or related scientific fields. Responsibilities
Assist in putting together research protocols and conduct laboratory-based studies. Construct, assemble and operate equipment as requested. Record and evaluate data in accordance with the methods requested. Perform experiments in support of laboratory research projects including assessing the impact of radiation on neurons and neuronal membranes, writing protocols, and contributing to portions of manuscripts. Order centralized supplies, monitor expenses, and communicate cost-effective alternatives. Organize and develop training to ensure that research group members have current knowledge of specialized procedures. Perform maintenance such as maintaining/cleaning equipment, organizing repair procedures, maintaining stocks, and providing general research group support as needed. Help orient and train new staff or students. Other duties may also be assigned. Eligibility Requirements
Education Required: MD, PhD or equivalent doctorate Experience Required: Experience in scientific or experimental research work (doctoral degree) Preferred With preferred degree, two or more years of required experience Position Information
MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000 per year, depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience.
