Under general supervision, provides prompt and courteous wine service to restaurant and lounge customers.
Circulate through the assigned area, recommends and serves wine to guests. Manages the daily activities necessary for maintenance and promotion of the organization's wine collection. Ring guest checks, collect cash and process credits and room charges in the exact manner outlined by company policies and procedures. Increase revenue by Training Team Members to up-sell, and other suggestive procedures. Decrease expenses through proper handling of product, and other suggestive procedures. Works with the culinary team to develop food and wine pairings. Identifies and purchases wines for the organization. Monitors the conditions of the wine cellar, ensuring optimal storage. Follow and practice all alcoholic beverage laws, policies and regulations. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Perform all guest contact activities in a cordial, efficient and professional manner; maintaining a commitment to guest satisfaction. May perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Formal Training
Bartending training and certification, TIPS Certified. Sommelier Certification
Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar job.
Knowledge/Skills
Must be 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages.

Ability to lift, push, pull and carry tables, chairs, trays, plates, and chaffing dishes on a daily basis, 20 -40 lbs. Bending -Bend to pick up dropped items as needed. Bend to assist in serving food or getting supplies. No kneeling required. Mobility -95% of shift covering all areas of outlets No driving required. Must have moderate comprehension and literacy to read use records and all special requests. Must have ability to perform multiple tasks at one time, must be able to follow verbal and written instruction, and be able to communicate both verbally and in writing. Must be highly organized and able to pay attention to sound and sight details in crowded and noisy situations, particularly when handling multiple tasks. Must be able to use tact and understanding when dealing with a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and highly emotional situations. Ability to read, speak and write English. Ability to accurately count cash. Ability to operate cash register.
